Sophie's fascination for human beings is an ongoing inspiration for her artistic practice. She takes a strong interest in human bodies, psyche, interactions, and memories, these themes she displays throughout her work. Delicately, she manages to pose questions on human nature and develops touching narratives with personal experiences, emotions and encounters as points of inspiration.
“If I hadn’t gone to art school, I probably would’ve studied psychology by now. My interest in everything involved with being human is still very visible in my work. The human body, the interaction, the memory and the psyche; these are reoccurring subjects in my photographic and linguistic works. I try to question these subjects in my work, without actively looking for answers.”
