04 Jul New exhibition | Notes of Tactility
From August 24 th until October 7 th, Assembled by Root will be hosting Notes of Tactility, a solo exhibition by Lisette Schumacher, a Rotterdam based artist. Lisette’s painterly work is characterized by its depth and complexity. Through the use of her own visual language, Lisette conveys notions of spaces and environments she has visited and that inspired her by means of its atmosphere and historical context. Her layered paintings, although created on a flat surface, are highly dimensional and reminiscent of architectural structures and specific atmospheres. When visiting abandoned industrial buildings in search for historical remnants, Lisette immerses herself in the nostalgia and rawness these spaces represent. The result is work that walks the line between abstraction and reality, making it equally fascinating.
The opening of the exhibition will take place at Assembled by Root, Zaagmolendrift 12. We welcome you on August 24 th, between 19:00 and 22:00 to join us for drinks.
The exhibition will be available for viewing during the opening hours of Root; Wednesday until Friday from 12:00 until 18:00 and Saturday from 12:00 until 17:00. On September 1st, the gallery will close its doors for the day.
Furthermore, the Gallery Crawl will once more take place, hosting its third edition on August26th, between 13:00 and 18:00. After several, successful editions we hope to once more welcome you to have a look at the range of galleries the Oude Noorden in Rotterdam has to offer.
