New exhibition | Camera Work

Root is proud to present ‘Camera Work’, an exhibition that will run from the 22nd of June until the 29th of July, showcasing artist explorations into the realm of photography in a time of digitalization. Are the ever-expanding technological options a friend or foe to the modern field of photography? The artists will provide a study on the effects of these technological advances and widespread access to this technology through the exhibition of unique artworks.
The exposition will hold works from emerging artists Lotte Fondse, Emily van Dijk and Jacqueline Fuijkschot, among others, which were selected through an open call application. We’re looking forward to exhibit their artworks, but also to provide them a series of workshops which will help them as independent visual artist. All artists are based in Rotterdam. This project is supported by Gemeente Rotterdam.
The opening of Camera Work will take place at the Assembled by Root gallery, located at the Zaagmolendrift 12, on June 22nd, between 19:00 and 22:00. After this the works will be accessible for viewing during the habitual opening times of the gallery, namely between 12:00 and 18:00 from Wednesday until Friday and between 12:00 and 17:00 on Saturdays.
The finissage will take place at the same location on July 29th between 15:00 and 18:00, during which we welcome anyone who is interested to join us for a drink and a browse.
